AMO Joins Major Chicago Brands as it Accepts the Employee-Focused Award

Chicago, Illinois

November 15, 2023

AMOpportunities is excited to be named among Crain’s Best Places to Work in Chicago for 2023. Founded only a decade ago, the company joins major Chicago brands to receive this recognition.

AMO’s focus on its people plays a significant role in the company’s culture. Benefits such as a tax-free student loan repayment assistance, an 85 percent company-paid healthcare premium option, employee equity, unlimited PTO, and fully remote work options help employees feel supported both at work and in life.

"Creating a product that is accessible, useful, and makes a difference for our visitors and physicians begins at home, with our people," says Kyle Swinsky, AMO CEO. "It comes down to taking care of our team so they will want to take care of others."

More than its benefits, AMO prioritizes establishing a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. Through an active Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, AMO has established measures to prevent pay gaps such as salary transparency and the expansion of set pay scales for positions at all levels of the company.

The DEI committee also created a hiring matrix and demographic metrics to ensure equity in the hiring process from recruitment to interview to onboarding; an employee feedback infrastructure that creates multiple channels for employee input; and a transparency model that includes open meetings, sharing company KPIs, charity matching, and more.

“Our vision for accessible and inclusive clinical training opportunities begins with our team,” says Swinsky. “To have the best ideas and the best services, we need people from all backgrounds and who bring different perspectives.”

AMO’s efforts around diversity and inclusion have created a workplace where 40 percent of its executives are female, and 42 percent of its team are from historically underrepresented ethnicities.
